THANKS to the 216 agencies who took the time during the past 3 weeks to send us their latest information.

Your updated listings will be used in the printed version of the Wishbook!

If you missed the deadline, you still need to update or confirm your information to keep your listing on the Wishbook web site. Please use the List of Agencies to look at the information we currently have for you.

If your listing is OK as is, send us an e-mail (wishbook@rochester.rr.com) saying so.

Background: The mailing described in the message below was sent to all listed agencies in August:

NEW INFORMATION FOR LISTED AGENCIES

Will Your Agency Be Included in the New Wishbook?

You should have received a mailing the week of August 15 asking you to confirm or update your agency's information in he Wishbook. Responses received by September 3 will be used in this year's printed version.

There will only be ONE mailing this year. If your contact person is out of the office, please be sure someone from your agency responds by September 3.

The mailing includes a copy of the information we currently have for your agency (possibly edited to fit the printed version).
If your listing is OK as is, send us an e-mail (wishbook@rochester.rr.com) saying so.
If you have revisions, send them to us by e-mail, fax, or letter.

You can also check your information on the Wishbook web site. (Click on List of Agencies).

We MUST hear from you by September 3, even if you have no changes. We need to be sure your information is current. Otherwise, we must leave you out of the printed version.

If you would like to add your local nonprofit organization to the Wishbook, please send us an e-mail at wishbook@rochester.rr.com.
We will send you a form by return e-mail asking you to provide information about your agency.

To be listed in the Wishbook, you must be a not-for-profit charitable 501(c)(3) organization in the Rochester, NY, area that routinely accepts donations from the public. Your contact person must be someone who will promptly return phone calls and e-mails from potential donors and volunteers, and who will follow through on arrangements for pickup or delivery of items. There is no cost for inclusion in the Wishbook.

General Information on Updating Your Listing
We like to keep Wishbook listings up to date, and we encourage you to update your page as often as you like throughout the year, whenever you have changes. Just send an e-mail listing your changes to wishbook@rochester.rr.com, and we will take care of the rest. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail when your changes have been made.

Also, please send information regarding your Special Events to the above e-mail address.

Two Possible Sources of Volunteers for Wishbook Agencies:

RochesterCares offers volunteer recruitment, experienced project management, and in some cases even tools and supplies to make your volunteer projects successful. For information, see the RochesterCares web site at www.rochestercares.org, and click on "Agencies."

Also, Single Volunteers of Rochester NY is a local organization that provides volunteers in groups of 6 or more for short-term or one-time projects. Go to their web site's Home Page at www.singlevolunteers.org.svrny, then click on "Non-Profits," then "Ask for Volunteers" for information for requesting a group of volunteers for your special event or one-time activity.

Organization for Wishbook Agencies That Use Volunteers:

The Rochester Area Administrators of Volunteer Services (RAAVS) is a collaboration of agencies and organizations who utilize volunteers to carry out their mission and vision. RAAVS provides support, guidance, training and resources to individuals working in the field of volunteer resources management. Members include: volunteer administrators, program coordinators, executive directors, fund development, resource managers and other professionals in non-profit and for-profit organizations. For 25 years RAAVS has been the number one resource for volunteer resource management professionals. From the seasoned administrator to those new in the field, RAAVS offers something for everyone.
