SEPTEMBER 2010 EVENTS
Fine Tastings for Al Sigl Center Al Sigl Center
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Locust Hill Country Club, 2000 Jefferson Road, Pittsford, NY.
Please join us for an unforgettable evening filled with fine wine and food tastings from local restaurants, live entertainment, artwork from local artisans, a wine raffle, and a silent auction. Your support will bring smiles to the faces of tens of thousands of kids and adults with disabilities and special needs served by our Member Agencies.

Advent House Golf Tournament Advent House
Friday, September 17, 2010, at Victor Hills Golf Club, 1450 Brace Road. Victor, NY.
Shotgun start at 12 noon. A fundraiser to support Advent House, comfort care home for the terminally ill.

Courage Bowl Camp Good Days and Special Times

Family Walk - Children Awaiting Parents
Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Ontario Beach Park, Beachfront and Sandpiper pavilions.
Check in: 9:00 a.m.  Start time: 10:00 a.m., rain or shine.
Parking available in the lots on the east side of Lake Avenue at Beach Avenue. Please do NOT park on street. Your car may be ticketed or towed
You and your family are invited to join us in a fun-filled day celebrating and supporting the work of Children Awaiting Parents. With your help, Children Awaiting Parents finds homes for hundreds of abandoned, abused, and neglected children each year. The walk is a family event — people of all ages are welcome to walk the handicap-accessible 2.5-mile course.
Preregistration before September 20 is appreciated. Walk-ins are also welcome on the morning of the walk. Register online at www.ChildrenAwaitingParents.org.

Ramon Rocha 5K Run/Walk and 1K Fun Walk - The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming
Saturday, October 2, 2010. Presented by The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming, in conjunction with the Geneseo Kiwanis Club. All participants will convene at St. Mary’s Church in Geneseo for registration at 9 a.m. and reconvene at the church for awards, food and beverages at 11:30 a.m.
All 5K participants will be electronically timed using the DAG system by PCR Timing.

Autumn Adventure 2010 - The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming
Friday - Sunday, October 8 through 10, 2010. This unique quilting and machine embroidery retreat weekend will have a variety of classes, a Friday night Trunk Show and a Saturday night banquet.
The event features: The Midwest Ya Ya Sisters - Rita Farro & Mary Mulari, Hoopsisters Instructor - Marilyn Gatz, and Janome Instructor - Maddie Bushman. All brands of sewing machines are welcome.
Sign up by August 25th to receive the early bird full weekend package cost of $175;
Starting August 26th the cost will be $225. Proceeds will benefit the KidStart Building Fund.

This cafe features a creative arts therapist in the morning and a guest speaker in the afternoon. Participants purchase coffee in the morning and lunch in the Pieters garden cafe. Angel Wreath Gift Giving Program - The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming
Monday, November 15, until Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
This worthy program gives area needy children, some with disabilities, a Christmas that they would not normally have due to the generosity of donated new toys and clothes. All donations are considered anonymous and can either be wrapped or unwrapped; the elves at The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming will gladly finish any wrapping needed.

Trolley Car Restoration - New York Museum of Transportation
Sundays throughout the year, at the Museum, 6393 E. River Road, West Henrietta, NY.
Museum volunteers are restoring several antique trolleys for operation on the museum's rail line. View the progress as we bring a 1914 interurban car and a 100-year-old Rochester streetcar back to life!

Nature Walks - Genesee Country Nature Center
Sundays throughout the year*, at 2 p.m. at the Genesee Country Nature Center, 1410 Flint Hill Road, Mumford, NY. Follow a knowledgeable naturalist on a nature walk to learn more about animals and plant life in the region. Themes change every week.
Nature Center admission: Adults $4; Seniors (62+) and students with ID $3.50; Youth ages 4–16 $2.50; Children 3 and younger free.
