Breast Cancer Coalition Pink & Teal Challenge - Breast Cancer Coalition

Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Monroe Community College. 5K Run at 9:30 am.  Walk at 9:45 am.

Register today for the Pink & Teal Challenge! The Coalition challenges you to help make this year’s event bigger and better than ever! Challenge your friends, family, and co-workers to join us in raising funds for cutting-edge programming, education, and support. All programs and services are available free of charge to anyone facing a breast or gynecologic cancer diagnosis.

24th Annual Open Door Mission Golf Classic - Open Door Mission, Inc.
Monday, May 20, 2024, at Midvale Country Club, 2387 Baird Road, Penfield, NY 
9:00 am: Registration, putting contest, raffles, driving range practice
10:00 am: Breakfast sandwiches, donuts, coffee, juice
11:20 am: Open Door Mission presentation
12:00 pm: Shotgun Start (Scramble Format). Grilled lunch during play.
Your registration fee includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, light breakfast, grilled lunch during play, plus a tee bag with golf shirt, golf balls, golf towel and other goodies.
Player and sponsorship registration fees are due by May 13, 2024.

Game Changer - Empowering Women Luncheon - YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County

Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of inspiration and empowerment as we honor Game Changers who challenge the status quo and create positive change in the world.
We are actively seeking volunteers to join our event planning committee. We meet via Zoom on the second Thursday of each month from noon to 1 PM. If you would like additional information, please reach out to you Yukali Okkotsu at yokkotsu@ywcarochester.org.

Trolley Car Restoration - New York Museum of Transportation

Sundays from April-May through October, at the Museum, 6393 E. River Road, West Henrietta, NY.
Museum volunteers are restoring several antique trolleys for operation on the museum's rail line. View the progress as we bring a 1914 interurban car and a 100-year-old Rochester streetcar back to life!
Available during our regular operating hours, 11 am to 5 pm, Sundays only. Included in the regular admission price. See www.nymtmuseum.org

Fridays

Friday Sale At St. Michael's Church - St. Vincent DePaul Society

Every Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at The St. Vincent DePaul Store in the basement of St. Michael's Hall, 124 Evergreen St. (Church location: behind 869 Clinton Avenue near corner of Clifford Avenue.) Includes antiques, collectibles, athletic equipment, electronics, and other items that are not basic household items. Quality merchandise at bargain prices. Proceeds raised at the sale go to support the St. Vincent De Paul Ministry to help the poor in our parish live a better life.

Marine History Group - Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society

Second Saturday of the month*, from 10:00 am to 12 noon, at The Former Customs House, 10 Latta Rd., at the corner of River Street. Rochester, NY 14612.  THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Presentation by the Marine History Group of the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society. The Presentation will be followed by a round robin. Bring your thoughts about Marine History for group discussion. 
*except July, August, and December.

Village History Group - Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society

(beginning in Spring) 

Third Saturday of the month, from 10:00 am to 12 noon, at The Former U.S. Customs House, 10 Latta Rd. corner of River Street, Rochester 14612. THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Bring in any items pertaining to Charlotte that you would like to show the group. (Every month except July, August, and December.)
